Soroptimist International, at the local level, is a Women's Service club. We meet weekly, usually around a meal, to socialize, to organize our events & programs, to learn more about our community. The focus of Soroptimist is to improve the lives of women and girls. The members of Soroptimist in the Rogue Valley further this goal through a variety of hands-on service projects. From one-day events, to long-term involvement, every member finds a way to help women and girls that suits her personality, talents and schedule.
Local clubs work on community-based projects that benefit women and girls locally. Club projects range from providing mammogram to low-income women, providing back-to-school clothes for low-income girls, providing career closet to women re-entering the job market, sponsoring self-esteem programs for elementary girls, and raising funding for local food banks.
In the Rogue Valley, the various clubs join together to raise money for Women’s Health with a Wine Walk in the fall. The clubs work together to find and award Women working to improve their lives with the “Women’s Opportunity Award.”
