SI-Ashland forwarded the following 2 entries to the Federation contest. We enjoyed having both girls, with their mothers, attending our meeting on March 10th, where they shared their drawings and essays:
Julia Ferguson, age 6, honored:
Mia Driscoll, Kindergarten teacher:
"I like Ms. Driscoll because she taught me how to plant tress. She taught us about mammals and about the earth. I like her classroom--her tables and her toys. She is nice and taught us how to treat others with respect. She was my Kindergarten teacher last year.

Ceili Widmann, age 12 honored:
Shawna Johnson with these words:
"She won the Olympics at 16, was a finalist on Dancing with the Stars. Gymnastics and Dance are my two favorite things. Shawna cheered on her teammates and dared to dream."

Live Your Dream Art Contest
Soroptimist International of Ashland again invites girls and boys grades K-12 to enter the Live Your Dream art contest, with entries due by December 4. Entrants are to draw a picture of a living woman who inspires you. In 50 words or less, write why she inspires you. We will select local winners, who will receive recognition at our March meeting--and will send all entries to the national competition, where the winner will receive $100 for themselves and their school.
The poster to your right is linked to a letter of explanation, application form, and a poster.
